English program

NOFCC is an independent Canadian volunteer based registered charity established in 1998 by a group of parents of
children with cancer. These parents wanted to provide help and support to families, which was not available through other programs. Being parents themselves, they recognized the particular difficulties involved in caring for a child with cancer and the geographic challenges of living in the north. NOFCC serves all families who have been touched by childhood cancer – families with a child on active treatment, those off treatment or receiving follow up care, and bereaved families.

To support these and future programs, the NOFCC initiates fund raising activities in the Greater Sudbury Region and beyond. Any donations are greatly appreciated and go directly to families through the programs. Click here to make a donation.

NOFCC helps families with some of their immediate financial needs through the following programs, subject to funding;

Shine Bright Bursary

Since childhood cancer affects the whole family: emotionally, socially, and financially, the NOFCC along with Vale INCO is making available to survivors of childhood cancer, their siblings along with the siblings of children who have succumbed to cancer the opportunity to apply to this innovative program.

Telephone Program
Long distance prepaid calling cards are available to all families while they are away from home with
their child for treatment.

Communication Program

Emergency/Crisis Needs Program

Toronto and Ottawa. Certificates may be used at grocery stores or hospital food courts and cafeterias.

Parking Program
Assistance with parking costs while receiving treatment at the Hospital for Sick Children. Tokens or
parking passes are also available for parking at HRSRH.

Tutoring Programs
An annual fund to provide assistance with qualified tutoring for children in need, on the advice of the
