NOFCC Land Acknowledgement

Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer (NOFCC) respectfully acknowledges that our organization lives, works, and serves families across lands that have been home to First Nations since time immemorial.

We recognize that our operations take place on the traditional and treaty territories of many Nations, including those covered by Treaty 5, Treaty 6, the Northwest Angle Treaty 3, the Robinson Huron Treaties of 1850 (Treaties 60 and 61), the Manitoulin Island Treaty, the Treaty of Manitowaning (Treaty 94), and the Williams Treaties. We also acknowledge our connections to Treaty One Territory and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis, as well as the lands and waters of Wiiniibak (Winnipeg) and Manido Abi.

We honour the enduring presence, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples, and we recognize their deep and ongoing relationships to these lands, waters, and communities. We acknowledge the responsibilities that come with living and working on these lands, including a commitment to learning, respect, and meaningful reconciliation.

As an organization supporting families across Ontario’s “P” postal code and those who live in Ontario while receiving care in Manitoba, we are dedicated to fostering inclusive, respectful relationships with Indigenous communities and to listening, learning, and walking alongside them in the spirit of truth and reconciliation.
