A message from the photographer, Helga Himer

In early 2019, I dreamed of a project in which I could make an impact on peoples lives, and raise awareness for childhood cancer. Now that September is here – Childhood Cancer Awareness month – I can finally release the images and share more about this project. I am so honored to work with NOFCC (Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer) and to have met with all these Superheros. Thank you for helping with the costumes, coordinating bringing the children to my studio, and assisting me with the photo-shoot and everything it required. My hope and wish is that we will sell more calendars than we could ever dream of. So here it is, buy yours for only $20!!! In this album you will find all of the created images of the 12 kids who participated in the photo-shoot, which were eventually incorporated into backgrounds with Sudbury-area landmarks. Plus, the calendar includes some behind-the-scene images, and the stories of the children. You might not know that all of these precious Superheroes went through cancer, and are thankfully now in remission. I hope and pray for their continued health and for no more children to suffer from this monster.
