Support for complex treatment-related needs
Some childhood cancer treatments can create specialized needs that go beyond regular appointments, travel, or day-to-day support. Families may face complex treatment protocols, transplant-related care, fertility preservation decisions, or procedures that require additional comfort and preparation.
NOFCC’s specialized medical supports are intended to help eligible families navigate some of these added treatment-related pressures with care, dignity, and practical assistance.
What this support includes
Bone Marrow Transplant & Prolonged Treatment Support
NOFCC provides additional assistance for eligible families facing bone marrow transplant, prolonged treatment, or other complex treatment protocols. Support depends on family circumstances, treatment needs, and available funding.
Fertility Preservation
NOFCC helps eligible families access fertility preservation support when treatment can affect future fertility. This support helps families navigate an important and sensitive part of cancer care.
EMLA Patches
EMLA patches are available for eligible children receiving cancer care to help reduce discomfort related to needles or treatment-related procedures. Availability depends on treatment location, care team guidance, and current program resources.

Families facing complex or less common treatment-related needs are encouraged to contact NOFCC. A team member can help determine which support program or referral applies to the family’s situation.
